Emergency Road Closure – Belgrave Road Landslip (work estimated to start to remove debris from 09 July 2025)

Please be advised that due to a recent landslip on Belgrave Road (2025), a temporary one-way traffic system is now in place.

Access to the hotel is available by foot, bicycle or car via the PO38 1JJ postcode, passing The Royal Hotel.

Please continue to follow these instructions until further notice or until this message is officially removed.

Accessibility:
We are not suitable for those with walking difficulties. Due to our cliffside location, there are multiple flights of stairs and no ground floor. Unfortunately, we do not have a lift or wheelchair access.

Pets:
We welcome dogs at our hotel for a non-refundable cleaning fee of £30 per room, per stay, payable at check-in. Assistance Dogs are exempt from this charge with certification provided.

Parking:
We are a no parking accommodation, but there are public and residential parking options nearby on Belgrave Road and Park Avenue. The Grove Car Park (2 Marlborough Rd, Ventnor, Isle of Wight PO38 1TE) is a short walk away and offers parking payable by coins, phone, or card. Beach Access:
While we’re not directly on the beach, our location offers private steps from the terrace that lead down to the beach. Please note these are followed by a steep hill. We do not provide beach towels. 

Bike Storage:
We provide a secure metal bike rack with CCTV at the entrance. Guests should bring their own lock for added security. Guests who book balcony rooms, may leave bikes on their balconies overnight. 

Smoking:
Smoking and is prohibited on balconies, this includes vapes. Please use the designated smoking areas.

Ferry Discounts:
We offer discounted rates with Wightlink, available through an affiliated booking link provided in your confirmation. Discounts vary throughout the year, typically ranging from 15% to 40%.

Extra Beds and Cots:
Jay-beds for children or teens are available at £10 per bed, per stay. Cots can be added for £5 per cot, per stay, subject to availability and room compatibility.

Payment:
Payment is due at check-in. We accept Apple Pay but do not accept American Express or cheques.

Travel Times:
From the ferry ports, travel time to our hotel is approximately 30-40 minutes by car.

Proximity to Ventnor Town Centre:
We are just a 5-minute walk from the town centre. Island Line Railway are operated by South West Rail and you can find more info here.

Nearest Train Station:
The nearest train station is Shanklin.

Nearest Bus Stop (Town Centre):
The closest bus stop is Ventnor Boots, serviced by the number 3 bus. Island busses are operated by Southern Vectis and you can find more info here.

Sea Views and Balconies:
Not all rooms offer a balcony. Please check room details at the time of booking for availability. All rooms at The Wellington Hotel include a sea view.
