Communications
Please be aware that, due to the layout and nature of our hotel, our telephone line is not monitored continuously, and we may not always be available to answer calls immediately.
If you leave us a voicemail, we will return your call as soon as we can. For the quickest response, we recommend contacting us by email.
For reservations, the easiest and most reliable way to book is through our online booking system, available directly via our website. This allows you to check availability and secure your stay at a time that suits you.

Accessibility
The Wellington Hotel is situated in a charming cliffside location and, due to the character and layout of the building, there are several stairways throughout the property. Unfortunately, there is no lift or ground-floor access. As a result, the hotel may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who are unable to comfortably use stairs. If you have any questions about accessibility before booking, please contact us and we’ll be happy to provide further information.
Pet Policy
We welcome dogs only at The Wellington Hotel. A non-refundable cleaning fee of £30 per room, per stay applies and will be charged at check-in.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate other pets or animals, including cats, birds, rabbits and similar animals.
Parking
The Wellington Hotel does not have its own parking facilities. However, public and residential parking options are available nearby, including on Belgrave Road and Park Avenue.
The Grove Car Park, located at 2 Marlborough Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight, PO38 1TE, is a short walk from the hotel. Parking can be paid for by coin, phone or card.
The Isle of Wight Council also offers Tourist Parking Permits, which may be useful for guests staying on the Island. Please visit the Isle of Wight Council website for current information and availability.
Beach Access
Although The Wellington Hotel is not directly situated on the beach, private steps from our terrace provide access towards the beach. Please be aware that the route includes a steep hill and may not be suitable for everyone.
Please note that beach towels are not provided.
Bike Storage
Secure metal bike racks with CCTV coverage are located at the hotel entrance. Guests are asked to bring their own suitable lock.
Cyclists may also wish to consider booking one of our balcony rooms, which can provide a convenient private space for keeping bikes overnight, subject to room suitability.
Smoking & Vaping
For the comfort and safety of all our guests, smoking and vaping are not permitted on bedroom balconies. Please use the designated smoking areas provided.
Ferry Discounts
Guests can benefit from discounted Wightlink ferry fares through an affiliated booking link provided with their reservation confirmation.
Discounts vary throughout the year and typically range from 15% to 40%, depending on travel dates and sailing availability. Please see our designated ferry page for more information.
Extra Beds & Cots
Jay-beds for children or teenagers are available for £10 per bed, per stay. Please note this cost does not cover the extra breakfast charge and this will be extra.
Cots are available for £5 per cot, per stay, subject to availability and the suitability of the room.
Please request additional beds or cots in advance where possible as not all rooms can accommodate the extra person.

Payment is due at check-in, prior to room entry.

Travel Times
Travel from the Isle of Wight ferry ports to The Wellington Hotel takes approximately 30 - 40 minutes by car, depending on the port, traffic and road conditions.
Ventnor Town Centre
The Wellington Hotel is approximately a 5-minute walk from Ventnor town centre, where you’ll find shops, cafés, restaurants and other local amenities.
Nearest Train Station
The nearest railway station is Shanklin, served by the Island Line railway. For current timetables and travel information, please visit the South Western Railway website.
Nearest Bus Stop
The closest bus stop to the hotel is Ventnor Boots, served by the number 3 bus. This bus travels to both Ryde and Newport depending on the direction.
Island bus services are operated by Southern Vectis. For current timetables and route information, please visit the Southern Vectis website.
Sea Views & Balconies
All bedrooms at The Wellington Hotel feature a sea view.
However, not every room has a balcony, so please check the individual room description carefully when making your booking if a balcony is important to you.
Luggage Drop-Off
Arriving before your check-in time? Guests are welcome to leave their luggage with us and head out to explore Ventnor while their room is being prepared.
Please speak to a member of our team on arrival and we’ll be happy to assist.
Wi-Fi
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The Wi-Fi password will be provided to guests during their stay.
Early Check-In
Early check-in from (12:00) midday may be available, subject to room availability, for an additional £10 per room.
Please contact us in advance where possible if you would like to request an early check-in as this service is not always possible.
Late Check-Out
Late check-out until (12:00) midday may be available, subject to availability, for an additional £20 per room.
Please speak to reception if you would like to request a late check-out as this service is not always possible.
Daily Housekeeping
To help us reduce unnecessary energy and water consumption, rooms are not cleaned automatically every day.
If you would like your room serviced, please request housekeeping through reception the day before you require the service. A new request should be made each time you would like your room serviced.
Thank you for helping us reduce our environmental impact during your stay.
Lost Property
Due to the high volume of lost property we receive throughout the season, we are only able to retain unclaimed items for one month.
If you believe you have left an item behind, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assist you in locating it. Any unclaimed items that remain after one month will be donated to local charity shops.
If you would like a confirmed lost item returned to you, a £10 flat fee will apply to cover postage and handling.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage guests to contact us promptly if they believe they have left something behind.
Dining & Kitchen Opening
Please note that The Wellington Hotel does not offer lunch or evening meals. Our kitchen operates a breakfast service only, during our peak tourist season from April through September.
Breakfast is available daily during these months, subject to availability and booking.
From October through to the end of March, our kitchen is closed and breakfast is not available.
